Ralph Weiderhaft
Lafayette - Ralph Weiderhaft, 95, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017.
He was born on November 14, 1922 in Brookston to the late Harry and Mignon (Wakeland) Weiderhaft.
On November 27, 1943, he married Meredith Yount in Brookston and she survives.
Ralph farmed in Brookston his entire life. He also worked for Halstead Implement Company for 30+ years and drove a Frontier School bus for 12 years.
He loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Meredith Weiderhaft of Lafayette; his children, Norman (Marjorie) Weiderhaft of Anderson, IN, Karen (Jon) Birck of Ridgefield, WA, Rick (Ruth Ann) Weiderhaft of Lafayette, IN, Terry (Kay) Weiderhaft of Rogers, AR, Mark (Lori) Weiderhaft of Waunakee, WI, and Janet Fox of Lafayette, IN; and his brother, Chuck W. (Martha) Weiderhaft of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Gary, Amy, Craig, Ryan, Chad, Justin, Andrew, Alex, Carsyn, Lindsay, Laura, and Grace; 2 step grandchildren, Lon and Lee; and 4 great grandchildren, Ava, Connor, Jackson, and Decker.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Velma Huddleston, Mary Balkema, Helen Clevinger, and Bob Weiderhaft.
The family would like to thank Franciscan St. Elizabeth Hospice for the excellent care of Ralph.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette. Services will be on Saturday, December 9th at 10 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel, Lafayette with Rev. Leland Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Brookston IOOF Cemetery in Brookston, IN.
Memorial donations may be made to the Federated Church of Brookston in loving memory of Ralph. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. You may light a Candle of Hope in remembrance of Ralph and sign his online guestbook by visiting www.fisherfuneralchapel.com

Meredith, so sorry for your loss. I have many good memories of Ralph. He liked to sit in his lawn chair and enjoy the outdoors and he enjoyed going into town for a cup of coffee and gossip.
