Mearl was one of my favorite uncles, married to my aunt Sis for most of my life. He was kind, funny and tolerant of our crazy bunch. His favorite thing to do was send us out a snipe hunting then coming behind us and shaking the corn stalks to scare us to death. He always made sure we were taking our ugly pills. After Sis died we didn't see much of him but the memories he gave us will last a lifetime. RIP uncle Mearl. You were very loved by the Bond family

Mearl was our Pearl--that's how my Mom, his sister-in-law, referred to him so that we remembered how to spell his name. He was my uncle and during the nearly 30 years he was in our family (married to my aunt Phyllis Bond Clifton), he was sweet, funny, kind, and generous. Oh, the reunion he had with all of the Bonds when he showed up in heaven! I wonder which one of them asked him if he brought his ugly pills---he loved to tease about those pills. How lucky we are that he was in our family.

RIP Uncle Merle

I have so many good memories of times spent with Aunt Sis & Uncle Merle. He was kind and patient with all of us tromping through the house & barns. He loved to send us snipe hunting & got many of the younger cousins with that one! I think he enjoyed the house full of kids but also loved to go out to the barns when it got overwhelming. He had the best corn I have ever eaten!
RIP Uncle Merle
