Snowdon, Albert Cowan Age 87, died on May 31, 2014 in Madison. He was born December 28, 1926. Albert graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1951 with a BS in Electrical Engineering, and received an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1962. Albert was employed by Cutler-Hammer (now Eaton Corporation) in Milwaukee as a Product Research Engineer from 1951 until he retired as Manager of Technology Planning in 1989. After spending many years in Milwaukee, he moved to Sun Prairie to be closer to family. Albert's artistic talents flourished in retirement as a self-taught artist using pastels and oils, as an accomplished wood carver and as a writer and poet, especially mastering the art of writing haiku. Albert honed many of his creative skills at The Clearing in Ellison Bay, WI and was very active in program development at the Colonial Club in Sun Prairie and in Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Wisconsin. Al's family is extremely grateful to Louise Trublic for her caretaking of Albert during the past several years and to the excellent staff at Harmony Assisted Living facilities in both Sun Prairie and Madison. We are also grateful to the South Madison Coalition for the Elderly for their advocacy and support. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday June 14 at the Colonial Club, 301 Blankenheim Lane, Sun Prairie. Memorials in Albert's name may be made to The Clearing, P. O. Box 65, Ellison Bay, WI 54210 or to The Colonial Club, 301 Blankenheim Lane, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. Cress Funeral Home 1310 Emerald Terrace Sun Prairie, Wisconsin 608-837-9054
