I have many memories of Arlene Gicus. I worked with her for years at Bryant School and always enjoyed her and our conservations. She was always so down to earth. She used to run the Book Fair and our favorite expression those days would be, "I know. I'll just put this on your pile, Mrs. Giaimo," and smile. The day one of my students told me "that Mrs. Gicus is such a great lemonader!" (Arlene did all of the laminating at that time.) When I told Arlene what the little girl had said, she practically choked! I know Arlene is sorely missed by her family and friends. I am happy to have known her.

Arlene was simply the sweetest, most kind woman and she had beautiful handwriting (: . She helped me out so very much with classroom things, like stuffing my report card envelopes and the cards at the end of the year in our cum folders or anything else. I greatly appreciated her help and cheerfulness and just a kind person to talk with. I also would lend an ear with her stories about her grandson she loved dearly. She was greatly missed when she retired and will be greatly missed now. I just thought of her the other day when I remembered how she said to warm up a hard boiled egg, just put it in some warm water for a bit.... she will be missed. Koreen Bensemann ( former MPS teacher)
