Swalve, Gary Martin It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Gary Martin Swalve of Tucson, Arizona, who passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Northwest Memorial Hospital in Tucson following complications from a heart procedure. He was the young age of 71. Gary was born on January 28, 1947, in Freeport, IL, to Shirl and Burdelle "Dolly" Swalve, and he lived most of his life in Cedarburg, WI. Gary is survived by his loving wife, partner, and teammate of 47 years, Diann Swalve; his daughter, Keelin Swalve (Angel Maria Vicente Prieto), and his granddaughter, Sofia Gasulla Swalve; his son, Brandon Swalve (Kathryn Baum); his sisters Cherie Robertson (Mike) and Debbie Milliken (Ed); his brothers Steve Swalve (Cindy), Phil Swalve (Ann), and Todd Swalve (Lauri); and many nieces, nephews, and friends-that-are-basically-family. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He was the rock in our family who always offered the perfect advice, a patient ear, a comforting hug, a hearty laugh, a strong pour, and a proud cheer - especially when he was watching his family, friends, or his beloved Badgers. He was passionate about his career as school business administrator, and he left his legacy with and imprint on the many with whom he worked. A memorial service will be held at Mueller Funeral Home (W63 N527 Hanover Ave, Cedarburg, WI 53012) on Friday, March 16, at 3 PM, with visitation time for family and friends beginning at 1:30 PM. A reception and celebration of his life will follow at a venue to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Heart Association in Gary's memory.

My deepest sympathy to Steve and all of the Swalve family. I remember the great athlete he was in high school and being one of the nice guys in the class of 1965. May God keep all of the family in his loving arms during this difficult time.

Steve, Phil, and family, our deepest sympathies to all at Gary's passing. He was a great athlete for the Pretzels, a tough competitor, never quit. I got to do business with Gary when he was with District 145. True professional and gentleman. May God provide peace and comfort to all during this difficult time.
