RIP Mr. Pokorny. Helping to shape young men at an all boys school was no easy task.

It was truly an honor to have had Mr. Pokorny as an educator at Thomas More High School.

My thoughts and prayers go out to your family during this most difficult time.

Please accept from me and my family our prayers that God comfort the family and friends of Mr. Pokorny, a man I count as one among the greatest of teachers during the years of my formal education. Chess Team Coach, Tennis Team Coach, Business and Personal Finances Teacher, this and so much more was Mr. Pokorny; I often recall and rely upon the words and wisdom of this fine man and am privileged to have studied under him.

Mr. Pokorny was a pioneer at Pio Nono. I was a freshman in 1972 and remember this giant of a teacher with a stern look who you wouldn't think about giving any guff. After four years at Pio Nono you realized what a great and dedicated teacher and coach he was. My youngest brother by nine years agrees. It appears that same dedication and love carried over in his family. I'm sure you grieve his loss, but at the same time have many wonderful memories of a truly great person.
