The law enforcement community, the community in the area of Gold Rush Chicken and his many friends, say Thank you God for blessing us with John & the Mullarkey family.

This is truly bad news to endure. I grew up on 28th and Garfield right around the corner from Gold Rush Chicken. I mean literally if i open my window you can smell the aroma from the place. John was a Good guy. I can remember a time me and some of my friends was in a attendance these cops was also in attendance and must misjudged as a gang or something and started to harass us so John stepped in yelled out Hey!!!!! you leave my kids alone. Me being a jokester back then i died laughing but at that moment i knew John was a stand up guy. On behalf of myself and the whole Milwaukee metcalfe area Rest easy Mr. John.

As as teenager, I worked there from 1974 to 1976. A valuable life lesson. John was fair yet firm
A couple years ago I went back just to see who was there. John and his wife Marie and son were still there. They remembered me and welcomed me with open arms!
They are good people.

My condolences. He will be missed.

Our deepest sympathies go out to all of the Mullarkey family. God is with you during this most difficult time.

John was probably one of the closest friends I had over the years who wasn't a cop. Always a kind word, a kind gesture, and great tasting chicken, french fries and poppers. The patriarch of a wonderful family.

You will be missed by many, my dear friend. Rest In Peace.
