My life changed when the family moved down the block!
Rember she had a old car that had a push button dashboard.

Mrs. Nohl was a wonderful boss to me. My job all during high school was working at the Lincoln Branch Library shelving books. She was my boss the entire time I worked there. It was always a pleasure to work for her. I felt a special connection because we had almost the same last name. Sounded the same but spelled differently. She was always interested in my father's passion for reading since he was an elementary school principal in West Allis, Bill Noll at General Mitchell. My condolences to her family.

RIP Mrs. Nohl.

I had the honor of working with Mrs. Nohl at the West Allis Library on National Avenue. She was a good librarian and a true lady. She encouraged my love of history and was influential in my husband and I volunteering at both the Milwaukee County and West Allis Historical Societies. I remember well our lively discussions about the Skylight Opera Theater and which shows were excellent and which weren't. (I hope someone has the engraved plate from her seat at the "old" Skylight.) Mrs. Nohl also made work fun. For one of the library's anniversaries there was a cake contest. Mrs. Nohl was able to talk several of us into decorating a square of a sheet cake with a book title theme. Not being nearly as clever as her, I managed to use dried lima beans and some squiggles of gel to create "The Milagro Bean Field War". We all got prize ribbons! I especially remember the stories of her girlhood, which she shared with wit and enthusiasm: the Porth Pie man and how her Mother was able to feed two guests for dinner at the last minute by saying, "Oh, the girls don't like pork chops". I have a Porth Pie tin I inherited from my own Mother, yet every time I use it I think of Mrs. Nohl. My husband, Gary, and I send our deepest sympathy to her entire family. Be assured that she has left many of us with dear memories and life experiences we would have never had.
