With a heavy heart, I just discovered this information finding my friend Rich to not be with us anymore. Rich and I became great friends working with one another at Northwest Airlines in Lansing, MI in 1987-96. He was my roommate for a while after returning from working in San Diego and eventually moved to Jacksonville, FL until his retirement. He also was based in Marquette MI at K.I.Sawyer AFB back in the early 60's which is my hometown. We had much in common. I guess you could say we were drinking buddies as well and had many laughs over the years. I haven't heard from him in a while and sent him a wedding invitation to my wedding and still didn't hear from him. His phone was no longer in service and this is now how I found out. Very very sad. He will be missed. Steve Larson

My mind is flooded with with so many memories of the times that we shared since our first meeting in homeroom at Cudahy High School, some 55 years ago. Although always distant from each other, our friendship endured the years, the miles and the test of time. We shared so many smiles, and yes, some tears along the way, but it was a good sense of humor, understanding, and mutual respect that kept our friendship going. Although I am grateful that you are no longer hurting, I will certainly miss you and our times together. Rest peacefully my friend, God Bless. And I wish to extend my deepest condolences to all the family, Rich was one great guy.

Friends make life better. Rich was my friend and he certainly made me feel better when my wife Pat & I were hanging with him. Having a friend like Rich was special. Rich knew how special he was to Pat & I. If you have a special friend[s] do not take them for granted, let them know your feelings towards them.

I will miss you Rich, RIP. Go Badgers, Go Packers!
