Dear Mike, Brian, and Allison,
I just heard about the passing of Sherry today. I guess since you moved from next door we haven't been great at keeping in touch, but I want you to know that I loved her dearly. She always had a smile and such nice things to say. She was adored at Shady Lane, of course, and I taught my first couple of years while she was still there. She was classy, funny, loving, and incredibly generous person. My heart goes out to you and I am so sorry.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Sherry in Kansas City in the late 70s-early 80s. In September 1980 I was pregnant and due to deliver soon. About 5 days before I was due, Sherry told me I should clean off my desk because I was going to have my baby and she was usually not wrong about those things. Sure enough, I went into labor that evening and my daughter was born the next day!

I had not seen Sherry in many years and did not know she was ill. I fondly recall her advice to me that day. My hope is that she had a party waiting for her on the other side. I will drink a Cuervo Gold in her honor.

Oh my goodness Mike I just saw this belatedly in the obituary section. I am so sorry I missed the funeral. I would have liked to meet her because I'm sure she was quite the woman to be your wife. I am glad you got to spend as much time as possible with her at the end of her life. I send lots of prayers and love your way. Grief is a journey. Be easy on yourself. Someone wants said to me that we will be with our loved ones much longer than we will be without them. I like that thought.
