Everyone should be lucky enough to have a friend like our Vicki. It would be hard to find a more loyal source of support in hard times or a more joyful soul to share the good times--we called it "coasting." Unwavering, Vicki was consistent in her approach to life. Hard work was a virtue to be gratefully embraced, especially if you loved your vocation of the healing arts, your patients, their families, your workmates. Her dedication spanned decades. The recipients of her quick action and years of experience saved lives and improved outcomes for countless patients who will never know the extent to which her advocacy impacted their well being. Vicki would be the last one to take a bow, and would blush at my observations here. But those of us who worked with her know this to be true. No task was too menial for our angel of mercy. Ah, if she only had a penny for every bedpan she carried, or for the tears of many patients which she dried... "Family first" was her unspoken credo. Every fiber in her being was devoted to the love of her family. Vicki took pride in watching her family grow and thrive. She loved the role of mother, grandmother and the associated bragging rights. Among her circle of friends, each had a unique role within Vicki's orbit. Thanks to all who prayed for Vicki, our uncommon friend. I am convinced that your special energy was a comfort. Years ago, Vicki had feral cats take shelter in her garage one brutal winter. In true Vicki-style, she did what she could to help them. Too frightened to bring inside, Vicki fed them and kept them warm with a heating pad and blankets. Eventually, they became "inside cats," Moppet and Tommy, and gave Vicki comfort with their cuddly presence up until now. At this time, we are reminded to cherish life, the "here," the "now." With courage and serenity, Vicki calmly confronted her mortality. She accepted her destiny with complete trust in God. By so doing, she gave us strength in return.
Vicki's legacy epitomizes values which are in short supply today--decency, love, service, generosity, acceptance, humility, spirituality.

Well done, Vicki, "good and faithful servant." Your rest is won. You have earned your wings and crown.

We miss you, dear sister.
Love and gratitude from all of us who were blessed to share your world.

Brian and I give our deepest condolences. She came into our lives in a way we least expected it. Through that we met you Jessica. We thank God that all of our paths have crossed. She was a warm and caring person. She truly loved from her heart. She did love animals and Rocco was one of them. We are blessed to have him in our lives. Through him we all connected and kept a bond. Losing a parent is the hardest. Also any loved one. Sympathies to you and all your family.
