I have thought of Mr. Rice many times since he was my teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School in Wauwatosa in the 80's. He was one of my favorite teachers and was always so kind and patient with me. I struggled a lot in school and he was always there to help and encourage me. I remember every week after the spelling test standing by his desk and going over the words again because I always scored poorly on the spelling tests. He always had words of encouragement for me. Teachers like Mr. Rice made me see that I was special and that through hard work and determination I could accomplish anything. Thank you Mr. Rice for helping me while I was your student. I know that you helped many students like me over the years and we are all better for knowing you. May you rest In Peace.

Mr. Rice made a difference in my life at Roosevelt elementary school in Wauwatosa. I was in Mr. Rice's class in 1984-1985. I remember him fondly embracing a student who didn't recognize his path in life. I've since spent over 16 years as an educator, 10 years in the classroom and 6 as an administrator. Mr. Rice has been in my heart since the days I was his student. I remember fondly a snowstorm in the early 80's when we offered to push Mr Rice's car out of the snow. He responded no problem boys and peeled his car out of the snow. I remember that memory so fondly. Rest In Peace Mr. Rice and thank you for shaping me into the man I am today.

My condolences for your loss. May the words and promise at Isaiah 35:5,6 give you comfort and peace.
