My fondest memories of Charlotte Trombold are those from the house in Park East. Whether I was there just to hang out with David, or at an overnight with him, or even sharing that special family event known as Twelfth Night, she was always smiling, always gracious and serving others in the best way she knew how. My greatest insights into who she was came as I was sitting at the kitchen table while she would be busy in the kitchen, fixing a meal or just doing the things a mom does serving her family. While she worked, she would always be asking me about what was going on in my life, or what were David and I up to at that point. She always showed great interest in others and was hungry to learn about everything going on around her. Education was very important to her both for herself and teaching others. Her love for children was always evident whether in her school or the children at First Presbyterian. I never heard her talk about herself. I had to learn that from David. Her servant's heart was always evident. I know she poured her life into her family and she will be deeply missed by them.

Joan, I never met your mother, but I heard such wonderful stories about her and your growing up years. She had to be an amazing lady and I am so glad I got to know her through you. Blessings.

Steve, and family - I don't recall ever meeting your mother but I do want to extend my sympathies in her loss. 99 years makes for lots of time through which classic "Mom stories" come to life. I pray you all will find richness and joy as you share them this coming week. Blessings!
