Glad I had a chance to meet Dr. KASTENS. He always had a smile that was so welcoming. Praying for his beautiful wife and daughters.

Dear Pat,
I always considered Jim to be a friend as well as a colleague. He supported me as a fellow practitioner and served as an example as to how a good veterinarian should be portrayed. I'll miss his plain spoken wisdom and his contagious sense of humor. His passing makes me sad, however I am so grateful to have known him. Jill and I send you our best. Dan Thompson

Pat and family,
So very, very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I remember watching your family grow through the years. Time sure flies! He was a great guy and a wonderful veterinarian! He will be missed by many! Please know that you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Kasten's girls--your dad was such a good friend to my dad--just thinking about it makes me smile. You know those two are in heaven talking Jayhawks vs Wildcats:) You all in my prayers.

Dear Kastens Family,
You are all very much in our thoughts and prayers. Your dad was a good man, raised a fine family and was much loved. And he was gifted in caring for animals as well. That is a life, well lived! I too, have enjoyed hearing of family and Jim stories from Diane and Tricia. Much love to you all. The Drolte Family

I'm so sorry to hear of your dads passing. Some of my happiest childhood memories were spent at the Kasten's house. He always made me feel welcome! Kelli McGreevy Lubbers

My sincere condolences to the family. Jim was so sweet and my littlest son loved sitting in front of him at Mass in the mornings. He always had a smile and a laugh for him!

My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Dear Kastens girls ( and my friend Diane particular) I always held your dad in such high esteem, he was so kind, and so loved by his girls. Diane has shared so many antedotes over the years about his life, work etc. and he and Pat used to come into Players and I just really adored them. So sorry for this loss, he was a really special guy.

Love and hugs to the entire Kastens family. I admire all your strength and dedication to your husband/father over the past year. You are all being thought of from Minnesota. Wishing we could be there for you, but know we will be here when you're home. John, Carna and Parker Linn
