What a beautiful girl, Vince and Caty. I never met Lauren, but I know the family that she came from and what a wonderful family. Sounds like she followed in your footsteps with your love of language and travel. I imagine she had a wonderful experience of life. My sincere condolences. Melanie McClain

Vince, as you know, when you first told me Lauren had passed away it seemed so inconceivable that I did not believe you. I argued with you. As the truth of it sinks in my heart is broken for all of us. I am thankful that Katie was with Lauren on those final days. I am thankful you had an opportunity to visit Lauren in the fall.

When I think of Lauren I see her smiling and laughing. It is tempting to imagine she is just away, hiking in Brazil, or making new friends in Japan, or discovering new adventures in Germany. It is hard to imagine I wont see her here.

I am very thankful Keith and I had an opportunity to see her before she moved to Germany.

As I pray, entrusting Lauren into Gods care and seeking Gods comfort I am aware of the presence of Christ. And a peace and quiet. A stillness that is reminiscent of a walk I took in the Redwood forests of California. A natural cathedral not made with human hands. Soft light filtering down I was surrounded by an unearthly quiet and peace. A place of worship. A place of praise and thanksgiving. A place of peace and quiet.

So sorry for your loss. Jesus wept after the death of his friend Lazarus. John 11:35 We weep along with you. His example was written in the Bible to give us hope.
Rom. 15:4
