We have lost a great individual - one who always had time for the little guy and those striving to learn and grow. Shelby was the epitome of 'paying it forward'. He will be sorely missed by so many he touched.

My friend Carmen and I worked with Shelby when he was in Wichita. We are in Medford. We always looked forward to seeing him. It was also fun to see him when he came to Medford for the basketballs games between Ames and Medford. We will miss him and his bright happy personality! Please accept our symphathy for his passing.

We met Shelby and Bonnie on a cruise several years ago. They were delightful to be with and added greatly to our trip. We still
have a framed picture of the Pearsons, the O'Dells and us on take on the deck of the boat. We called them the Fab Four. So very sad to learn of his passing. Prayers for the family as they deal with this loss.

Whenever Shelby walked into a room, he lit the place up with joy & happiness! Truly genuine and one of a kind...I'd like to think that when he passed he brightened heaven's gate. Our deepest condolences to Bonnie, Summer, Autumn and the wonderful Odell family.

Shelby was a peach of a guy. I first met him in the late 90's when I worked at Flint Hills Nat'l Golf Club. There is an old adage that says the character of a man can be made by the way he treats the waitstaff. Shelby was as fine a person as any I waited on in my career. He showed interest in me that was uncommon and was a pleasure to serve. Guys like Shelby are few and far between. He will be remembered well. My condolences to Mrs. O'Dell and her family.

We live close to Ames, Oklahoma. Leonard did some corral work for Shelby and Bonnie at Ames. Really enjoyed learning to know them. Our church youth group would Christmas Carol for them. Always a highlight. They treated us like family. Our hearts are with you, Bonnie and family. May the Lord comfort you.

Seldom has the world known a man as kind, humble, generous and wise as Shelby. And there's not a church in the country large enough to hold all his friends who would want to attend services. Our condolences to Bonnie and the Odell family.

Shelby was a one of a kind guy - invariably friendly, kind, loving and upbeat. His life centered on family and friends . . . he will be missed by many. Gayle and I will be praying that treasured memories and the eternally true promises of our Lord and Savior will comfort you in the coming days and weeks.
