Bantz, Rosemary Age 93, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Via Christi McLean, surrounded by her family. She was born on January 19, 1924 in Coffeyville, KS, to Ernest and Estella Rehn. She had a brother, Edgar Rehn, who preceded her. The family moved to Wichita when Rosemary was small and she remained a proud resident for the rest of her life. After graduating from East HS, Rosemary began employment at Shell Oil and later worked at the Eye Clinic until her retirement. She met the love of her life, Carl Monson, a GI returning from WWII, on a blind date. They were married in 1947, and started a family with a son, Steve, and a daughter, Stephanie. They remained crazy in love (46 years) until his death in 1993. After losing Carl, it was with great fortune that she met her precious second husband, retired KAKE news director Paul Threlfall. He adored Rosemary and they had a delightful 9 year marriage until his death. She later married Wichita business man, George Bantz, with whom she shared a caring relationship until his death in 2012. Rosemary was an energetic fun-loving person who loved her dogs, was an accomplished pianist and lover of music, and who greatly enjoyed caring for plants. She is survived by her son, Steve Monson (Candy-dec.) of Rogers, AR; daughter, Stephanie Jennings (Wayne) of Wichita, KS; three grandchildren, Sarah and Paul McIntosh, both of Kansas City, MO, and Travis (Ashley) Monson, Springdale, AR; and 3 great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Pat Threlfall Kraus (Chuck) of Breckenridge, CO; and stepniece, Lynne Fischer (Arthur Kopp) of New Milford, NJ. We are truly grateful to those who helped Rosemary through the last years of her life and want to express our sincere gratitude to her home health workers and the staff of Via Christi McLean, who lovingly took care of Mother. Honoring Rosemary's wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at a later date. Please consider donations to Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
