Mrs. Hylton was also my home economics and life skills teacher at Novi High School. She touched many lives. As others have said here too, we kept in touch over the years. Without knowing she was a Christian when I was in high school, I look back and see that Jesus was shining His light through her. She could see the lost who needed her extra love and comfort. She always had a smile for me, comforting words, and wanted to know how I was doing. Life was difficult for my family in those years (and therefore for me) and without knowing all the details she knew to reach out to me. After high school we continued to keep in touch and wrote to each other every year. I always loved hearing of her wonderful husband and family. I know it was hard when Paul was sick and when he passed, but she continued to have faith and share joy. She was proud to know I became a teacher and a Christian. The last two years I did not send holiday cards. This year when I did, I was saddened to know that she had passed. I know she is rejoicing with our Lord and Savior. I just wanted to let her children and grandchildren know how much she impacted my life. She will continue to be remembered.
With His Peace,
Lisa Haskin

Mrs Hylton was also my teacher at Novi High School. I had her for a couple classes, one that was described I believe as a Life class. She recognized that I was lonely I believe and she let me come to visit her a lunch. I really felt cared for by her, and we stayed in touch over the years. I graduated in 1989 but still send Christmas Cards. I was looking at my list, and I saw her name, and found out that she died just last year. I feel such a sadness but also happy that she is with Paul again. I do remember she talked about him and her children all the time. She was a very special person, and she touched many people. I will never forget her. Bless you Mrs Hylton. Jennifer Rush, Dec 13, 2015

To Mrs. Hylton - my sewing teacher who shared the light of Christ with me.

Mrs. Hylton was my home economics teacher at Novi High. She was an inspirational sewing teacher who introduced me to Viking sewing machines...so I bought one, stilk have it, and I love it. She was very pretty and she loved the Lord. I know she was homesick for the south...and I believe she lived in Plymouth when she taught at Novi. She adored her son and daughter and talked often of them. I called Mrs. Hylton several times to say hello to her when she lived in Lexington. I would be appreciative if someone would email me to let me know what happened that she passed on as I adored Mrs. Hylton. I kmow she took good care of her husband Paul.
