I had the wonderful privilege of knowing Hazel when she would visit The Woodhouse Day Spa where I work. She was always a joy to see and to listen to her memories of the good old days. She was always smiling and talking about going places with her family. I consider it a blessing to have known her for the last 5 years. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm sorry I didn't know she had passed. May God Bless you all and comfort you at this time. With deepest sympathies.

For several years it was my privilege to visit with Hazel and Jane at the Golden Wildcat Alumni reunions in Lexington. She was a 1940 U.K. graduate and had attended all of the Golden Wildcat Alumni reunion except one. She was a class mate at Somerset High School with Major General Lloyd B. Ramsey who also passed away this year. MG Ramsey worked diligently from 1997 until his passing to have a Medal of Honor awarded to Lt. Garlin M. Conner who served under him in World War II. Hazel attended the 2016 Golden Wildcat reunion with Jane who qualified as a Golden Wildcat by graduating in 1966. Hazel was a great lady from the "Greatest Generation" who helped make America the Greatest nation in the world.

Hazel was a real inspiration to me. For a brief time I was her Sunday school teacher. I was so blessed to say a prayer with her on Wednesday, November 2 at the hospital. I was doubly blessed to see her daughters at the same time. Hazel was a special lady and a devote Christian. She was a pleasure to know. Grace and peace,
