For over 13 years Jeff and I have been the best and dearest of friends and neighbors who watched out for each other through the best and worst of times. I grew to count on his friendship. He was always there to help do whatever he could. He would make me laugh at the things he said and did shaking my head commenting that's Jeff. How you helped Seniors and the look you gave me when I reminded you of being one! I could go on and on about your thoughtfulness, kindness and sweetness.
You have no idea how much I am going to miss you and how lonely my life will be. Jeff, I am grateful for having you as my friend. We will not see anyone like him again, one of a kind. When my daughter died 11/11/11, he said If I say anything it will come out stupid, so I won't say anything, just know I'm here for you if you need anything. Those words have meant so much to me, as anything anyone said didn't help. That having been said and recognizing the words must ring empty, there is nothing I can say to adequately express the depth of sadness to all those who were touched by him and the loss of having him gone.
May you be comforted and grateful to know that you had such a wonderful loved one and I am sharing your sorrow and pain.
Sending my deepest sympathy, Carol Craig

My condolences to the family over the passing of Jeffrey. I knew the Compton family when I lived in Ashland many years ago
May you find peace.

I enjoyed working with Jeff over the years. He was a great friend, and I learned alot from him. He will be missed.

Jeff and I were the last of the single holdouts from our college friends, and thus gravitated together: whitewater rafting in TN, canoeing in northern MI, Sunday afternoons at DeSha's, ... Jeff provided the venue for me and my wife's first date - suite passes in the Galt House for Thunder Over Louisville, he was so resourceful! I am so shocked and saddened by his passing, we'll miss you old friend.
