To the kid I will always remember!!! You have stuck out in my mind since the day I left Iraq. I was an Air Force medic and we never knew each other. You and your family will always be in my heart. You will most definitely never be forgotten!

Never forgotten Joey thank you for all you done. And nothing could have stopped you from going but even this many years later still think of and miss you a lot. Cuz you were to young but God needed you that's how I still deal with this now uncle Ronnie massie is with you. Hope you are living it up in heaven like you done here for those 23 Years

You and my son Jerry are on my mind today! Jerry's son is looking at going into the US Air Force. I know Jerry would have understood that he wishes to serve as his dad. Not a day goes by that I do not think of you and Jerry. I visit his grave as often as I can and think of all the young lives lost on the battlefield.
God bless you and your family and for the your bravery!

Regards,
Jerry Burge Sr.

The last time I saw Joey was his last trip home. He and my grandson Bryan Adkins. Joey's stepfather came to see me. Our last words to each other were "Even tho your Mom and Bryan are now divorced you will always be my grand son and I love you" He answered " and I love you and you will always be my Granny Helen.I will see you when I get home again."
He was very special we laughed a lot.Joey loved his little brother Chase so much.
