OH MY!! I am in total shock! I was reviewing my mothers obit because my aunt is very ill now and I am trying to prepare. I saw Mike's and could not believe what I was reading. Mile and I dated all through college and after until I was about 25 years old. I remember when he got his 240Z and all the drives we went on and especially how he taught me how to drive it. I know why he named his dog Elvis....That was the name of our family dog! He was a coon hound and looked like the one in Beverly Hillbillies. That dog was a trip! His picture was in the papers on two occasions, the time he ran out on the UK basketball court during a game and they called a foul on him and when Elvis Presley died and the paper came out and took a picture of him on our front porch....saying "Elvis mourns Elvis"!! Mike loved that dog. We never knew what Elvis might do next. He liked to freak out those at the Idle Hour Country Club swimming pool. It was his favorite swimming hole !! I grew up in Ashland Park, so any establishment in that area was fair game for Elvis. If anyone sees this please let me know what happened. The last time I saw Mike was at my mother's visitation at Kerr Brothers. He had a hat on and told me he burned his his hair lighting his grill!!???? I ask him how much he had to drink. We laughed but now I'm thinking maybe it was something else. Thanks! RIP my dear friend you will always be in my heart. Debbie

I was floored when I found out about Mike.... I had almost called him the day before as I drove by his house, like I often would. You have all summed up so much about him that I don't need to repeat. After working with him at Mines & Minerals I saw a Mike that usually entered the office imitating Pee Wee Herman "hunh hunh" chuckle

And in his words of Beavis & BH, when he would call me on the phone " huh, huh-huh, huh" And I would reply .... "or sumthin" . It had to be Mike.

Mike was a kind, sweet man who had many friends and I will miss dearly. He loved cooking and entertaining and I will miss his famous dinner parties as well as his friendship. Other than cooking, his one true love was Elvis and no one benefitted more from Mike's culinary skills than Elvis. He will be missed by many.
