I'll never be able to read Revelation 8:1 ever again without thinking of a funny story linked to it:

Some ladies in Sunday school were teasing Mildred about talking so much, saying she wouldn't go to Heaven because she couldn't keep quiet for half and hour. She told them, "I'll have you to know that I believe, and I'm going to Heaven!"

Mildred always had a smile, and knew her Bible and her Lord.

Connie and Terry,

Sorry we cannot be with you at this time, due to health problems. Bill and Mildred were some of our very favorite people. Mildred was the kindest and loveable person we know. Remember that you have so many happy memories
of both. Rely on those and you will be fine.

Our love to you both,
Alyce and Don Chumle7y

This is a grand lady that all of my McClain Drive and Kees Rd friends who I grew up with will fondly remember...Mrs. Lewis was the school crossing guard in the mornings and afternoons that we would be greeted by at the extremely busy intersection of North Broadway Park and North Broadway each day as we would walk to and from Arlington Elementary School. She would always give us a smile and kind words each and every day. Her bravery in that job would always show up from time to time as she would stop traffic on North Broadway so us little kids could safely go across that busy road. I remember one time in particular when she saw a car speeding towards the intersection while she stood in the middle of it and stepped in that lane in front of it with her stop sign extended and whistle blaring. That car screeched to a halt only several feet in front of her. She was so mad and her face turned blood red but kept her cool... then signaled for us kids to cross all the while never taking her icy stare off the driver of that car. Mrs. Lewis thank you for protecting us and caring for us like we were your own. To her family and friends I will never forget Mrs. Lewis...God Bless you!
