George Blevins Obituary

BLEVINS George H., 85, of Lexington, KY died February 2, 2018. He was born in Lebanon, OH to the late Hayden and Nora Blevins. He is survived by his wife Patricia Blevins of Lexington, KY. They were happily married for 58 years. He is also survived by his sisters, Olema Combs of Cleveland, TN, Bonnie Ray of Lebanon, OH, and brother Gregory (Dianne) Blevins of Middletown, OH, son-in-law Harold Beard of Lexington, and grandchildren, Tristen (Michael) Collins of Lexington, Chelsea Blevins of Indianapolis, IN, and Taylor (Parker) Alboher of Lexington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two children, George Trent Blevins and Tricia Blevins Beard, and also by a brother, David Blevins. George's greatest joy in life was his family. He loved playing golf at Spring Valley Golf Club with his friends and spending time with his work family. He started Jobbers Exhaust in 1982. He loved his work and was passionate about his customers. Colleagues remember him as a very kind and successful businessman who took care of many families for many years. He was a wonderful mentor to many in the business world and a great story teller. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. There was no one else like him. He has been a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1965 and a Kentucky Colonel. Visitation will be Friday, February 9th from 10am-12pm at Immanuel Baptist Church with the funeral following at 12:30pm. Burial will be at the Lexington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to Immanuel Baptist Church, 3100 Tates Creek Rd. Lexington, KY 40502 or online at https://ibc-lex.securegive.com/. Pat would like to say a special thank you to nephew Bobby and Jennifer Murray and friends Danny and Sissy Leal and Sonny and Polly Psimer for their kindness and support. Also, the family would like to extend a gracious thank you to The Willows at Citation and Dr. Barry Schumer for their wonderful care and passion. www.milwardfuneral.com

When I went to work on my first job in Middletown, OH, George became a wonderful friend. That was 64 years ago. We both ended up in Lexington and raised our families here. Even though our social lives have been different, we have a lot of common memories. So long, George - you were a great friend
