KRAUSS Dr. Nathan Wayne, 30, passed away after a brave two year battle against leukemia at 2:30 am Tuesday, November 15, 2016 surrounded by his family. Nathan was born on January 16, 1986 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences from Auburn University and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was completing his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Kentucky. Nathan was commissioned as a Captain in the US Air Force. Nathan was a devoted husband, a caring son, a loving brother and a loyal friend. He will be missed by many friends and family. Nathan is survived by his wife, Dr. Allison Mays Krauss; his parents, Matthew and Ramonda Krauss; his sister, Lauren Krauss (Phillip) Hasha; his brother, Stephen Krauss, his paternal grandfather, Theodore Krauss; his maternal grandparents, James and Patricia Smathers; and his two loving cats, Dansby and Kinzy. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Marian Krauss. A celebration of Nathan's life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 2800 Tates Creek Rd., Lexington, KY 40502. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, 1510 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40511.
