Reed and I worked together at the Borden Ice Cream plant in Pittsburgh and always met for dinner every year when we were in Florida. Will miss his friendship.
November 4, 2015
My condolences to the family. Reed's mother and my grandmother, Alma Wegener Schade, were sisters.
I only met Reed a short time ago when he invited Edna Wegner and her daughter Marilyn to lunch. They invited my mother, Helen Schade, and me to join them. Edna' s husband, Gear, was also a sibling of my grandmother.
Any time Reed came to Pittsburgh, he would get in touch with us, and continued to do so long after Edna and Marilyn's passing. The last time we saw him was October, 2013, when he visited my mom, in the nursing home. Bill Wegener, Edna's son, joined Reed and myself for lunch that day.
Bill wanted me to extend his sympathy to all of you. If there is a service here in Pittsburgh, Bill and I would like to attend, and pay our respects.
Again, my sympathy for your loss.
Janice Schade, Green Tree
