I had a beautiful friendship with Sylvia when she was a volunteer at Clark Regional Hospital in Winchester, KY. Sylvia worked in the Gift Shop & I was the treasurer at the time, so we had many occasions to chat at length. My G'Father had come from Germany at 13 yrs of age before the war, so I was eager to learn of Sylvia's youth. I also attended the Holocaust Survivors Pictorial Presentation in Lexington years ago. She also told me of the Winchester Library's video where she told a part of her own experiences.... I loved her beautiful personality & learned so much from her. I have a GIFT she gave me that I would like to gift/give to Sandy as I understood from Sylvia she brought it with her when she came from Europe... Please contact me!

I first got to know Sylvia when she tested for her drivers' license! I was so impressed with her determination. I had always known her and Jake from afar...as my father, being a WWII veteran, always spoke so highly of her. But to finally meet her and get to know her was indeed a privilege! We would talk from time time time about her experience in Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. Just wish we could have talked more....to tap into and receive a drop of her fight, passion, patience, drive, strength faith.... So thankful to have know you, Sylvia. Until we meet again.
