WAITS Jane Piatt, 94, of Lexington, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Thomson Hood Veterans Center, in Wilmore, KY. A native of Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Barnett Henderson and Ethel Mae Waits. She was retired from Butler Printing, where she was the Office Manager. She was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps, where she attained the rank of Sergeant. She was also a member of the Pilot Club and was a volunteer for the Central Baptist Hospital Gift Shop. Survivors include one brother, Russell C. Waits, Versailles, KY; one sister, Mable C. Carter, Henderson, KY; a special niece, Marjorie (James) Andrews; two great nieces, Anna Francis and Jennifer Francis; three great great nieces, Alexandria Francis, Ciera Locke and Olivia Locke; numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Allen Waits; four sisters, Lucille Waits Jacobs, Martha Thomas Waits Ethington, Marjorie Steele Waits and Peggy Jo Waits Flora. Funeral services will be 1pm Thursday at Milward Southland with visitation beginning at 11am Thursday. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
