ADDIE BALLINGER Obituary

BALLINGER, ADDIE EMILY - age 85, of Claxton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 7, 2013. Addie was born to H.C. Anglin and Mattie Anglin and was raised in Three Links, KY, growing up surrounded by her eleven brothers and sisters. Addie had fond memories of her family singing and playing music by the hours. Addie was a mighty woman of God and lived worthy of her calling. She left a legacy of which we shall all be grateful for. She loved her family and brought joy to all those around her. Her strong faith with God never diminished. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother and Granny to all. Addie was a member at the Park West Church of God. She was preceded in death by beloved husband of 63 years, Oral Dwain Ballinger; parents; six sisters and two brothers. She leaves behind a daughter, Brenda Cline and husband Don; son, Dale Ballinger and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Denise Large, Iris Hancock, Suzanne Lane, Caroline Ledbetter, Valarie Arnold and Mike Ballinger; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She has two very special sisters, Laura Anglin and Lillie Sargeant and many loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at Tennova for their loving and compassionate support. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 9, with a funeral service following at 2:00 pm at Woodhaven Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald McGinnis, officiating. Interment will be Sunday, February 10 at 10:00 am at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Park West Missions Program, 7635 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37909. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family through this difficult time. We rejoice in her home-going, yet we also grieve her loss. It does seem that the older we get the more family and friends we have are in heaven than here on earth. Praise God, we will be with them one day.

Rest in Peace my dear, sweet Great Aunt Addie. You were always so kind and gentle. Always interested in what us kids had to say and took time for us. Give our love to Pa June. Prayers and love to the family in this time of loss. Remember all to good things and smile; she would want you happy for her!
