Mrs. Betty was first a neighbor, then my favorite teacher, then my lifelong friend. What a special lady she was! I feel honored to have known her since I was a child. So many memories with she and her sweet Jamie. Love and prayers go out to her family.

Betty was a strong, lovely person who greatly valued education, history and friends and family. She lost her daughter, Jamie Wilkerson Idol, almost 44 years ago. It was a great personal blow but she persevered, living a full, satisfying and valued life. She will be missed.

Our Aunt Betty was really a very special beautiful, intelligent, accomplished lady who sought the best in everything she did. She took great pride in her family, the history of the Kitts family., her students , her home , her appearance , and her being well read on many topics. She was a very active woman, biking, hiking ,archery , clay pistol shooting. She was a member of the Jessies Children hikers . She and her late husband, Bill Wright, had a lovely group of friends and enjoyed their 20 years together. Here's to her life.. well lived.
