Chuck , I just learned of your passing and my heart is broken. It comforted me to know that you lived just up the hill and that you were just a phone call away. All of that is gone now. You were a rare, genuine, and warm person like no one else I have ever known. As my boss, you were the best teacher, so kind, considerate and patient. You were the reason I stayed as long as I did. As my friend, you were the best I ever had and I love you dearly. So many things in this world that will always remind me of you. When I would hear your laughter, it would draw me to you because I knew that you would make me smile. I can still see everyone flocked around you at your desk. You were central to everyone's daily success and happiness. I can only imagine the emptiness that must remain there now, and I thank God I am not there to see it.
To Erin and Lindsay I am with you in sorrow but I know that we were among the very blessed to have your dad in our lives. He cherished you girls and you were all of his happiness and joy. I saw your pictures each day at his desk and he talked about you always. When I saw you in person, I immediately could see Chucks kindness and his precious sparkle in both of your faces and I take great comfort in knowing that he lives on in you both.

I worked as a geologist for TDEC for 25 years, retiring in 2010. I got to know Chuck because we all worked in the same building. He always was smiling. It seems he could grow a full beard in one day and I often accused him of being part werewolf.

I am so sorry for your loss! Randy told me wonderful stories about him, Chucky and Greg growing up. They are now together again. I love all of you. You always made me feel like apart of the family. I am praying for all of you!!
