Earl Lee was a special ambassador for Ben Atchley Veterans Nursing Home, and his earned role was evident as he warmly welcomed our Uncle Ben Duncan, owner and operator of Duncan Boat Dock, as his new roommate in May 2017. After a special tour of the facility and introduction to special friends, Earl assured Ben the staff would provide excellent care. Earl also welcomed the Duncan family and assured each member, with confidence, he would take charge and assist Ben with anything he needed. By coincidence the new roommates knew each other in their younger days when Earl worked for Uncle Ben at the boat dock, so it was easy for the two friends to happily share old times and new times together for many months.

When Uncle Ben's health failed on July 2, 2017 Earl comforted him and pledged to be vigilant outside his room. Earl kept his pledge until Uncle Ben went to heaven that day.

On April 15, 2018 Earl Lee went to heaven after celebrating his 100th birthday on April 1. I Can Only Imagine Uncle Ben being a great ambassador and welcoming Earl as his new heavenly roommate and assuring Earl he would be taken good care of in his new home for eternity because of the salvation of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Thank you, Earl, for being our friend. We will miss your earthly presence.

Mr. Lee,
I am going to greatly miss your sweet face and kind heart. Getting to know you over the last several years while doing the Mobile Meals route has been a real blessing!! I know that you are happy & at peace now that you have reconnected with your loving Juanita!

I am certainly missing my across the street buddy.
We would sit in the open garage solve world problems and wave at folks driving by.
