Lawerence Edward Dawson, age 84, of Sweetwater, born on October 14, 1933, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Sweetwater Nursing Center, after a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by his son: Dennis Ray Dawson, parents: Shade and Dovie Mae Nunley Dawson, 5 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Myrtle Ruth Phillips Dawson, daughter, Cindie Stanley, sister and brother-in-law: Ethelene and Eddie Kirkland, all of Sweetwater, sister-in-law: Phyllis Dawson, Kingsland, GA., granddaughters: Brooke Beamer, of FL., Michelle and Nick Branson, of Washburn, TN, Jennifer Dawson, of Knoxville, 3 great-grandchildren: Drew, Aubrey, Brice Branson, of Washburn, TN, lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, special helpful friends: Casey, Chris, and Andy Yates. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in Kyker's Chapel with Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Sweetwater Memorial Park on Saturday at 9:00 A.M. for the interment. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
