Edith Louise Bruce, age 91 of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away at 3:20 AM March 1, 2018. Mrs. Bruce was born August 3, 1926 to Hubert Roscoe and Myrtle Marie Ingram. She attended Sevier Heights Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis Bruce Junior, and daughter Teresa L. Settle. Survivors include daughter Peggy Moates and husband Jerry of New Market, Tennessee, son Willis Bruce and wife Deborah of Sweetwater, Tennessee, Rick Settle, son-in-law of Knoxville, Tennessee. Grandchildren include, Ben Moates and wife Alice of Round Rock, Texas, Heather Broussard and husband William of Knoxville, Tennessee, Jennifer Easterly and husband Jeff of Alcoa, Tennessee, Allison Lafollette and husband Jerry of Knoxville, Tennessee. Great grandchildren include Bailey and Madeline Moates, Elizabeth, Sophia, Margaret, and Mary Catherine Easterly, Shelby and Caroline Lafollette. Edith was retired from BellSouth as a telephone operator and worked for 16 years as a switchboard operator at Jefferson ward. She has a special gift of communication, was an excellent cook, and a talented musician and singer. She will be missed by all. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Sweetwater Memory Chapel in Sweetwater, TN with the Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. The Rev. Jimmy Jackson will be officiating. Interment to follow in Sweetwater Memorial Park.
