Barbara Ann Owens Cohen
Knoxville, TN
Barbara Ann Owens Cohen, age 75, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at home. Barbara was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on January 15, 1943. She was the youngest child of Lloyd E. and Ella Mae Owens. She grew up with her brother, Clifford Malden "Bo". She had a long career with FDIC, and she retired from Oak Ridge Associated University. Barbara was predeceased by her loving parents, Lloyd and Ella Mae Owens, and brother Clifford Malden "Bo" Owens. She was a mother to two wonderful children, Robbin (Mike) Perry and David (Priscilla) Paiva; grandmother to Tracy (Brian) Waldrop, Tabitha (Justin) Staley, Jonathan (Jade) Paiva, and Kelli (Bradly) Lowery; step-grandmother to Jessica Perry; great grandmother to Tyler Waldrop, Colby Waldrop, Samantha Staley, Bradley Staley, Jacob Paiva, and Westin Lowery; step-great grandmother to Brianna and Kaitlynn Gwinner; and dog mom to her faithful companion, Flash. Barbara loved to laugh, and she lived her life understanding that difficult things are easier when you can laugh through your tears. She loved her family with everything she had. She was the maker of meatballs, the master of arm tickles, a slot-machine wizard, and when she felt it necessary, a squeaky wheel. Most of all, she was loved, and "Love never dies". Funeral services will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com

I am unsure if this will reach anyone but just discovered that Barbara passed away.
My deepest, deepest sympathies. My name is Laura Harris. To a few of you I am the trainer for Flash. With all time I spent with them both.....I will miss them both equally.
In the time that has passed, Barbara and I kept a friendship going that put a smile on my face when needed.
With recent cancer surgery I was not able to touch base with her and check on how the "family" was keeping up.
She was someone I got to know later in life and know that God put her in my life when needed. I will miss our talks, but know for sure that she is breathing without tubes, enjoying all that heaven has to offer.
Thank You all for sharing her with the world.
