Mary Magdalene (Winton) Wilson Dunn was born July 14, 1920 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Smith Winton, Sr. and Callie Kilby Winton. She departed life on Thursday, January 18, 2018. She accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of her father who was a minister. Mary was educated in the Knoxville City School System. She graduated from Old Austin High School. Employers: Old Knoxville General Hospital until it was demolished in 1956. She was transferred to UT Memorial Hospital where she retired after 45 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Jesse Wilson and Leroy Dunn, Sons, Marion "Brother" and Alan "Squirt" Wilson; Sisters: Grace Washington and Sadie Butts; Brother, Smith Winton, Jr.; Grandchildren: Michael and Tommy Wilson, Lynette Fugate, Dermaine Freeman and Derrick Davis, Great Grand Daughters: Regina, Christy and Jossie Fugate; Great Grandson, Sammy Fugate; Devoted Caregiver and Cousin, Bessie Lou Riley.
Left to cherish her memory: Loving and devoted daughters: Johnnie Mae Wade, Grace Steele and Maryalice (Rosmond) Turner; Sisters: Lucy Larkin and Cora Thompson; Grandchildren; Great Grand Children and Great Great Grand Children; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends to include special family friends, Sarah Mills-Lawrence and the Mills Family. Saturday, January 27,2018, the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at 1933 Texas Avenue. Reverend Dr. Joseph B. Smith, Jr., Eulogist. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial South Cemetery, Chapman Highway, where a white dove release will conclude the service.
