Our heart, thoughts and prayers goes out to the McDuffey family and Ms. Brenda Page. Mr. Sherman was a GREAT MAN. Mr. Sherman and my dad and mommie, JoAnna and Press Booker Jr. were great friends. He went to school with them and worked with my daddy. My dad has been gone for 38 years and each time I would see him he would share a sweet story. His words of wisdom and encouragement I will hold dear. May your memories offer you peace. May GOD wrap his loving and comforting arms around you all at this time.

To the family of our beloved brother
McDuffey

“ But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

In pray for the family during this time,

It has been both a pleasure and a blessing to have pastored and befriended Bro. Sherman McDuffey. He was the real deal. He cared for people. He pride for Yolonda and his brothers was palpable. The world, The Beck Center, and The East Knoxville Community are better today because he lived and cared. Sherman truly let the work, his bread, and his dance steps speak for him.

Mr. McDuffey was a hoot! He was an absolute joy to be around. He volunteered at the Beck Center when I worked there and we became friends and remained friends. Mr. Duffey and I exchanged Christmas cards for years and I could always count on his being the first card I received. I will treasure this last Christmas 2020 card (thank you to his daughter) forever and ever. You will be missed sir. Rest in the arms of our Lord!

Praying for the family. Sherman was a friend to many. He was always happy and could make you laugh. He was special to our family as we spent many hours of fellowship with him. We will miss him but Heaven has gained a beautiful flower for the garden. Sleep on Sherman in the arms of Jesus. Love to the family.
