Virginia Sue Shields, 81, formerly of Knoxville, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. She was a founding member of Sullivan Road Christian Church in Knoxville. Virginia was the Personnel Director of Fortin Plastics Aircraft division of PP&G in Southern California. Virginia was a Real Estate Broker in Northridge and Santa Barbara, CA . She was the President of the Women's Republican Federation in Santa Barbara, CA. She was an officer of the Reagan Campaign Finance Office in Washington, D.C. She was an avid golfer and served annually as a volunteer official at the L.A Open. Virginia was later employed by IBM in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to retiring she had been employed with the Scottsdale TPC. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Allen and Virginia Ruth Thawley; sister, Roberta Gillam; brother, George Edward Allen; and her daughter, Joy Lynn Landgraf. Virginia is survived by her children, William Shields, and Stephanie Oliver and her husband, John Oliver; grandchildren, Amber Nicole Shields, Taylor Rae Landgraf, Brett Allen Shields, Kaitlyn Joy Arnold and husband, Justin Arnold, and Maxwell Flynn Oliver; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Stockwell, Braeden Shields, and Bryson Stockwell; sister, Darlene Evans; brother, Jim Allen; several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended loving family members and friends.
