JUSTIN AND I SEND HEALING THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS YOUR WAY IN THE LOSS OF YOUR FAMILY PATRIARCH.
A HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP TO HONG KONG YEARS AGO, WHEN PAUL AND BARBARA WERE LIVING THERE, WAS CARRYING FRESH TORTILLAS, SALSA, CANNED FRIJOLES, AND OTHER MEXICAN GOODIES ON THE PLANE. THEY HAD TOLD US THAT THEY WERE CRAVING THAT PARTICULAR TOUCH OF HOME. THEY TOLD US LATER THAT THEY HAD SPREAD THEIR GOODIES OUT TO LAST FOR WEEKS. WE HAD A FUN VISIT WITH THEM.
AND OF COURSE I RECALL LIVING ACROSS THE STREET FROM YOU ON MUIRLANDS DRIVE IN THE EARLY 70s. MAY HAPPY MEMORIES OF EARLIER TIMES SERVE YOU ALL VERY WELL.
VERY FONDLY...EVELYN KILLMAN MACCARTHY

Growing up in the La Jolla Summit neighborhood and being good friends with Mr. Hathaway's son, PJ, I remember Paul as being warm, friendly and easy-going. He was a gentle soul and a great man. We celebrate his life and take solace in knowing that he will now be reunited with his beloved wife Barbara. The Hathaways are a great family and have added to the fabric of the La Jolla community for many years.

We remember our dear neighbors from many years ago when Barbara and Paul lived in the Summit. P J was a good friend of both our sons and Paul and Barbara were good friends. We have so many fond memories of Paul and Barbara. They were wonderful people who raised wonderful children.
It was sad when Barbara passed away, but now she and Paul will be reunited, and never forgotten by those whose lives they touched in such lovely ways.
Paul lived a long life full of many accomplishments. His sons should be proud of the legacy he left them. We will miss and remember both Paul and Barbara.
