Ralph Gurzi Obituary

Ramona Ralph Dominico Gurzi, age 84, passed away in his home in Ramona, California on January 2, 2019, surrounded by his wife, two children, son-in-law, and grandchildren.He was born on April 7, 1934 in Long Beach, California to Fortunato Gurzi and Natalina Calderone Gurzi, immigrants from Italy. On October 23, 1955, he married his beloved wife, Millie Anne Brown. Together they had a son and daughter, Dan Gurzi and Nancy Gurzi Stolliker. Ralph joined the United States Air Force right out of high school. He is a Korean War Veteran. After 4 years of service, he was hired by the City of Long Beach Water Department. Ralph began his time with the Department as a laborer. After 36 years, he retired in 1994 as one of the top managers. Ralph enjoyed joking and telling fun stories about his military time and the years spent working for the City of Long Beach. He was an epitome of a true family man. His wife and family always came first. Ralph loved the ocean, traveling, boating, fishing, and family gatherings. Ralph was predeceased by his parents and five older sisters, Mary, Rose, Carmen, Josephine and Catherine.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Millie Gurzi; son, Dan (wife, Carol) Gurzi; daughter, Nancy (husband, Brian) Stolliker; seven grandchildren: Megan Narin, Kelly Dufur, Cassi Harper, Scott Dufur, Douglas Dufur, Diego Moreno, Sean Stolliker; six great-grandchildren: Lorelai, Mitchell, Gabrielle, Carson, Cody, Kendall.An honor service was held for Ralph on January 8, 2019, at Miramar National Cemetery, in San Diego California. He loved his country and was a true patriot to the end. He was the funniest nicest man, my parents were good friends to him & Millie, they had a german shepard who had puppies, I got to close to one of them and she bit my nose. Phyllis died in 2002, and Carlis died in 2012, being that it's sad to see us all age & die, he had a great loving life. He must of been so proud of his family.

My Condolences to Millie Nancy & Dan, and all the kiddlings.
