Joann "Jo" E. Waibel
CANAL WINCHESTER: Joann "Jo" E. Waibel, age 83, of Canal Winchester, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at her residence.
Born March 13, 1932 in Columbus to the late Frank and Mae (Chinn) Maines. She was an active member for 50 years at Livingston Ave. United Methodist Church where she also served as secretary to the administration board for many years before moving to Lithopolis United Methodist Church for 15 years. Jo helped to organize her neighborhood collection for United Way; she volunteered at Grant Medical Center and clowned with a group for Nationwide Children's Hospital. She was an Eastern Star, was past president of the Canal Winchester P.T.O., and she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Preceded in death by her sister, Helen Collins; Jo is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert "Bob" Waibel; children, R. Steven Waibel, Scott J. Waibel; grandchildren, Joshua Steven Waibel, Nathan Daniel Waibel, Zachary Waibel, Carrie Waibel, Heidi Waibel; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit 2-4:00pm and 6-8:00pm on Monday, March 7, at the Lithopolis United Methodist Church, 80 Market St., Lithopolis, OH 43136, where a funeral service, officiated by Pastor Charles Martindell will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday. Interment at Lithopolis Cemetery. Friends who wish may donate to Lithopolis United Methodist Church or FairHope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, OH 43130 in Jo's memory. The Loechler Family would like to express their deepest sympathy for the loss of Jo. I remember all the good times you, dad and mom and Jo all had together when we were growing up. I know she will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
