II Corinthians 5:8 "To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord"
Every time I saw Gram she always asked "Are you ready, because you know Jesus is coming". Well He did come, but this time He came just for her. Right now she is with the Savior she served so faithfully surrounded by her husband David, her friends, and family who have gone before her.
Thank you for all those years of prayers and laughter, you were an inspiration to us all.

" I am standing upon that shore.
A ship at my side spreads her white sails in the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her until she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says, There! She's gone!
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that's all.
She is just as large in mast and spar and hull as ever she was when she left my side; just as able to bear her load to the place of her destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just at that moment when someone at my side says There! She's gone! there are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, Here she comes!

"Joy. This word keeps coming to mind as I remember Gram. From the memories that
we shared, to the expression and smile that was always on her face. Many of us would
agree that our Christmas gatherings at Gram and Von's house were some of our most joyous
times with Gram. There was always singing Christmas hymns and laughing with excitement as
Peeps disappeared and "Swedish Clause" entered the room. I bet every one of us
has eaten enough Plum pudding to put yourself into a "comatose state", and felt
the love that went into your special Christmas stocking. Gram was always up to play games
and bake goodies. This is why I cannot think of a better word to describe her. Joy. Her
incredible faith in God has taken her all the way home and I'm sure that she is smiling
down at us right now feeling completely fulfilled looking at her beautiful family. Even
in sickness she laughed and cracked jokes, I think that humor is a quality that she has
passed down to many of us. You know what humor brings? You guessed it, joy. So as long as
joy is in your heart you will have a part of Gram right there with you. Or, you could
always wrap up in one of her famous blankets ;) I am sorry that I couldn't be there
rejoicing Gram's life with you all today.
