Richard Wilkins
PLEASANTVILLE: Richard Wilkins, 90 of Pleasantville passed peacefully from this life on August 21, 2016 at the Pickering House surrounded by family. Richard had a love of farming, which he did for most of his life. He served in the US Navy during WW11 in the South Pacific and later worked at General Motors for over 30 years. He is a member of Pleasantville United Methodist Church and Pleasant Grange.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Josephine (Bartlett) Wilkins, daughters Karen (Russ) Hines and Darlene (Brian) Archer; 4 grandchildren, Rusty (Elizabeth) Hines, Erin Hines (Ryan Smith), Matthew (Hannah) Archer and Emily (Eric) Singer; 3 great-grandchildren Brayden and Keegan Hines and Kinsey Archer. sisters-in-law, Janice (Les) Hardwick and Barbara Bartlett, brother, Charles (Marcine) Wilkins.
He was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alfred and Fern Bartlett his parents Ensley Wilkins and Edith (Sherrick) Wilkins, brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Rachel) Wilkins, Roger (Bonnie) Wilkins and Jack (Dorothy) Wilkins; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Hugh (Elizabeth) Bartlett, Ethel Lee Collinsworth and Keith Bartlett.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday August 25, 2016 at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating and Lancaster Ohio Veterans Burial Detail conducting military honors. Friends and family may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to Pleasantville United Methodist Church, 112 Lincoln Ave, Pleasantville, Ohio 43148.

I knew Dick and Jo from when they'd come into McDonald's, he was such a sweet man, who I always looked forward to seeing him and Jo, cause they both would just brighten my day when I saw them. RIP Dick :(

Josephine, Karen and Darlene, I am so sorry for your loss. Dick was a nice guy. I have a soft spot for farmers. I wish I could be there for calling hours, but living 800 miles away, that's impossible. Having been through what you are going through now, I feel your pain and know that I am thinking of you through the next few days.
