Wayne Davis
Lancaster: Wayne E. Davis, 90, passed away Tuesday October 31, 2017 at Crestview Rehabilitation. Wayne was born January 9, 1927 in Baltimore, Ohio to the late William and Ruth (Springer) Davis. Wayne graduated in 1944 from Liberty Union High School and in 1947 Bliss Business College Majoring in CPA - Accounting. He was employed 42 years at Vory's Brothers, Inc., starting in 1947 in Pricing Dept. and advanced to Office Manager, Marketing Manager, and Assistant Secretary Treasurer to Vice President of Operations until retiring in 1989.
Wayne was a member of Eastview United Methodist Church of Whitehall; He served for 20 years on the Whitehall Board of Education, Eastland Career Center Board of Education, Parks & Recreation Commission and was a member of the Metropolitan Cooperative. Wayne also served on the Educational Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission. He was past Master of Baltimore Lodge #475 and the past President of the Columbus Industrial Executives Club. Wayne was also a WWII Navy Veteran where he served as an Electricians Mate.
Wayne is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Ann) Davis; daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Clippinger; grandchildren, Mitchell and Donovan Davis, Caroline (Josh Boggs) Clippinger and Rebecca Clippinger; brother, Ralph Davis; brother-in-law, Donn Leith; sister-in-law, Josephine Eversole; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Eversole) Davis; his parents; brothers, Bill and Raymond Davis; sister-in-law, Wanda Leith; and brother-in-law, Denslow Eversole.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 4, 2017 at Eastview United Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Rest Memorial, Reynoldsburg. Friends may call 6 to 8 Friday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastview United Methodist Church, 1045 Ross Road, Columbus, Ohio 43227 or Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
