I only knew Rick for a couple of years (I began going to his church, FBC Lancaster, and discovered we both had stage 4 breast cancer, he was a bit further along on that journey.) Last Summer I wanted Rick to be able to go to Lake Hope with me to hand feed the hummingbirds. I had done that before with my mom and Rick had never done it. The park naturalist allowed us to come on a day when it was not open to the public and those birds swarmed around Rick like bees to honey. After that we ate at the dining lodge Rick insisted on paying and then in the gift shop he said, "Is here anything you want, Mary? If there is, I want to buy it for you." (I didn't want anything but oh I thought that was so sweet and precious that he extended such generosity.) He was so kind and giving. It was a pleasure to have known him even for a short time in this life and I look forward to an eternity of knowing him more!

Rick has been a real testament to his faith and an encouragement for us in our faith walk. Believers do not need to fear death for when their time comes they will enter through the door to Heaven to spend eternity with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rick's family is In our thoughts and prayers. Please call on us if we can be of any assistance.

Rick will be missed. His smile and sense of humor made him a person that everyone liked. We grew up together and attended the same church, Park Congregational, in Meadville, PA. Youth group was always entertaining because of Rick. He made us all laugh. He will be missed at our class reunions too. My heart is heavy when I think of celebrating without Rick.

I am so sorry for your loss, Ethan, April and family. I know how much he loved you. Please let me know if there is anything you need. Our prayers are with you.

Sincerely,

Emily and Family,

I remember Rick from back when he served as the biddy league football president when we were just getting that started at Fairfield Union. He was the calm in the chaos. He then coached Meghan in volleyball a few years later. Lots of positive impacts and good memories of Rick.

May you all find comfort in your memories.
Hugs to your family, David and Peggy Savage
