CORPORAL CHARLES A. WHITE, JR.

NEW LEXINGTON, OHIO: WELCOME HOME CELEBRATION

A Welcome Home Celebration will be held at 11:30am with Pastor Kathy Reiff officiating with visitation from 10:00am-11:30am on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio for Corporal Charles A. White, Jr., son of the late Charles Alfred and Anna May Smarkol White of New Lexington, Ohio.

Charles died 12 May 1951 while a Prisoner of War in North Korea. Recently, he has been identified as one of those unknown soldiers repatriated through Operation Glory after the Korean War and placed in the national cemetery in Hawaii.

Many of Charles's family have passed-his parents, his beloved brother Paul E. White, sister-in-law Hazel Lipps White, dear sister Ruth Ann White and many beloved aunts and uncles.

However, Charles is survived by his sister June White Chuvalas and brother-in-law, Gus Chuvalas; nieces and nephews-Cris White Reed (Pete), Cathi White Jones (Keith), Steven White (Judy), Sharon Chuvalas, James Chuvalas (Debbie), Michael Chuvalas (Karen), and Richard Chuvalas (Diana O'Dell); many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Following services at the funeral home, a burial with full military honors by the United States Army will be held at Community Gardens Cemetery, St. Rt. 13, NE, New Lexington, Ohio where Charles will be returned to the loving arms of his parents. Home at last.

A reception will be held at the John Tague Post #188, American Legion Hall, 328 Elizabeth Street, New Lexington, Ohio immediately following burial at the cemetery.
