Dear Nancy and Family,
I am so saddened on Brian's passing. May I extend my deepest sympathy and condolences. I am grateful to Brian for giving me the opportunity to work as his assistant chief, PPMD, and as the Military Branch Chief during my assignment in the Los Angeles District from 1998 to 2014. Brian was an inspirational boss, always treating us with dignity and respect and providing us with timely and wise guidance to enable us to successfully accomplish our projects from start to completion. Through his outstanding leadership, the Corps of Engineers has delivered quality programs and projects to improve our Nation's civil works and Military infrastructure and made our country stronger and more resilient. We will miss his friendship, golfing companionship and keen sense of humor which constantly reminded us that life is to enjoy. May he rest in peace.

Sincerely,
Glenn Arakaki
