Ellen was an inspiration to all, she was kind, patient and wise. When I think back at my time of Woodbury University, I think fondly of Ellen. To me, she was Woodbury, the strength and wisdom that comes from higher education. I will miss her sense of humor, her grace and most of all her friendship. Rest in peace dear friend.

Ellen hired me to teach at Woodbury University. I SO enjoyed working with her for 8 years. She was an inspiration there and afterward. The last letter I received from her about 1 1/2-2 years ago was so warm and wise. I was just about to write her a letter letting her know how important she was to me, but I guess I missed my chance. She was a wonderful administrator and a memorable person. It was a gift to have known her. My condolences to her family.

Dear Family of Ellen Campbell, I was so sorry to learn of Ellen's passing. I was a student of Ellen's in 1974 when I spent my junior year abroad in London on the Marymount College Program. Ellen was a wonderful teacher and a dear friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a brilliant mind and a kind heart. When Claire Nolan and I ran out of money during our last week in London, she let us stay with her and I remember many great dinners with Ellen and terrific conversations. I saw her in California about 20 years ago, but I lost touch and I regret this. I am sure that Ellen is with God and her beloved family and many friends who have already passed over into the afterlife. Ellen was unique and charming, and I will miss her great spirit!
