May 27, 1928 - February 8, 2014 John Peek passed away on February 8, 2014 at his home in Salem, Oregon. Born in Schenectady, NY, he is survived by his wife of 64 years Lois Peek, his daughters, Lauri Murakami (Kay) of Acton CA, Lisa Fan (Robert) of Salem OR, Lynnette Thomas (Ken) of Woodland Hills CA, his ten grandchildren Joanna & Karl Murakami, Jonathan & Andrew Weber (wife Deonna), Rachel, Katherine & Peter Fan and Justin, Jamison & Ashleigh Thomas and his sister Eileen Brown. John served in the US Navy, graduated Union College of Schenectady with his B.S. in Electrical Engineering & was a member of the St. Georges Lodge #6 F&AM for 60 years. He moved his family to Woodland Hills, California in 1969 to work for Xerox (retiring in 1989). He then lived in Hermosa Beach (1979-1989) and Calabasas (1989 - 2013) and made their final move to Salem, OR in May 2013 so he could start his dream of a little farm. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will always be remembered for his great bear hugs.
