Dear Edie,
I was so saddened when you called me last night to let me know about Milt's passing.
We go back nearly 80 years when we grew up together in Brooklyn. Even after Milt left
for California we kept in touch and visited each other from time to time. Exchanging birthday
cards was an annual ritual which I l will sorely miss. I guess I don't have to tell you that to
know Milt was to love him. There are so many wonderful memories of Milt that will be
cherished forever.
With all our love and deepest sympathy to you and the entire Chortkoff family.

Edith and all:
It is with a deep heart that I sit down and try to pen a Condolence to you and your lovely family..Coming from Chicago to LA in 1967 Miltie was one of the first Handball players that "allowed" me on a Hollywood YMCA handball court, I "stunk", but my dear Uncle Miltie encouraged me to hang in there..That was the start of a 50 year friendship.

To know Milton was to love Milton, and in those 50 years he was charming, giviing and "up" as humanly possible..Never a dour puss.
I have resided in IL. since 1995 and kept in touch via phone..Several years ago I took my daughter to LA for the first time..We were Blessed to spend time with you Uncle Miltie and Edie..Truly the HIGH of our visit.
You were a true Blessing uncle Miltie, and I Love you. May your God Bless you throughout ETERNITY..God Bless you Edith

Dearest Edie: It is with such great sadness that I just read that our friend "Miltie" has passed away. I'm sure you remember the days of our first meeting (1962), when my Bob and I bought our first drug store about a block or two away from your dry cleaners in Echo Park. We created a very special friendship with Miltie and you. We shared many, many fun times along with a few sorrows during that time. Both Bob (died 9/23/11) and I thought that your husband was one of the finest men that we were honored to have met and then to know.
Please accept my sincerest condolences that are being sent to you and your family. You are in my prayers. I hope to speak with you on the phone very soon.
